Experience Summary
Science, especially biology and chemistry, has always intrigued me. Since I was a child, I had always known that I wanted to study biology. I received a BA in Biology in May 2006 from CU. During my studies there, I focused on chemistry and received a minor in French. My coursework is quite varied, and I have experience writing scientific papers, laboratory reports, research papers, and essays. Last fall, I taught an English class to adults in Mahahual, Mexico where I was volunteering.
Teaching Style
I love meeting and interacting with new people, children and adults alike. I have extreme patience. I believe that it is imperative to make the student feel comfortable in the learning environment. I would never embarrass a student for asking a question. So many times in the past, I have witnessed teachers ridiculing students for asking a question because they genuinely did not understand the subject matter, which prevented the students from asking any more questions in class. It is also important to know why the student, or his or her parents, believes that he or she needs a tutor.
