Experience Summary
I recently graduated from Wake Forest University with a BA in Philosophy, and a minor in Psychology. Because my major concentration is broad, I have a strong background in various fields--math from years of logic, grammar from years of writing, and critical thinking. For the last 4 years, I have been working with children with autism in both the home and school settings. In this field, I have focused on increasing these children's expressive language and socialization skills. I also have tutored privately in home in the fields of biology, social studies, and mathematics.
Teaching Style
I am an advocate of early intervention. Especially in the special education field, it is imperative to begin a child's learning at the earliest available time. I do not have a strict teaching style, but, instead, am flexible according to your child's passions and strengths. I believe it is best to transfer knowledge from what a child loves and excels across to those problem areas. I am patient and kind, and persevere in all that I do.
