Experience Summary
As a graduate student I taught pre-service teachers educational psychology and multicultural perspectives on learning. As a graduate student in school pscyhology and practicing school psychologist I assessed students learning ability and designed interventions to improve their academic skills. My writing and editing skills are very good. I have extensive experience working with special education students. I have experience tutoring students in reading and teaching students with autism.
Teaching Style
I work best in a one-on-one situation. I feel that students learn best in a relaxed atmosphere where learning is fun. Students also need to see that they are making progress and feel confident in their ability, so I try to devise a system that shows them their progress and motivates them toward a stated goal. I also believe strongly in variety. All students learn differently and it is important to assess each child's individual style and design instrution around that, while keeping in line with methods that have been proven effective.
