Experience Summary
As part of the requirement to be a member of Pi Delta Phi, the French National Honor Society at UCF, I was required to tutor French students of all levels on a regular basis. Learning a foreign language not only taught me French, but also gave me a new understanding of English. Being an instructional designer for the Military for six years, I can learn any subject in a short period of time (I write lessons on a new subject on a weekly basis). I have excellent writing and editing skills due to writing lessons every day. While my tutoring experience is somewhat limited, my teaching experience is vast, ranging from language, grammar, and writing to first aid, weapons, and various engineering tasks.
Teaching Style
I have a genuine interest in the success of people. I am flexible and am willing to adapt to accommodate the student's learning style. Teaching is like a puzzle to me. I approach each student and subject with a fresh mind and find the style that will facilitate the highest level of achievement. I understand that sometimes learning in the classroom just isn't enough. A positive influence outside of the classroom is invaluable in the development of a child.
