Experience Summary
As a graduate of Purdue University, I have earned a bachelor's in chemistry. My chemistry degree is also accredited by the American Chemical Society. To achieve this, I had to take advanced chemistry and math courses. Also while attending Purdue, I was a team leader for their Women In Science Program. Throughout this program, I mentored incoming female freshmen science majors for four years. As a mentor, not only did I help them adjust to college life, but I was also there to advise them on courses and I even helped them study for their classes.
Teaching Style
I like to perform the tasks in front of the student and explain everything, step by step, as well as give information on why I'm doing that step. Then, if the student understands and feels comforatable performing the task, I'll let them try it with me, being there to help out as needed. I like students to be very hands on when it comes to learning. Once they feel comfortable performing their task in front of me, they can usually be on their own after that. I also encourage students to ask as many questions as possible, and there are no dumb questions.
