Experience Summary
As a granddaughter of an English teacher, I've learned the importance of education and passing the knowledge. I have earned an AA in Computer Engineering and will earn a BA in Journalism in May 2007. These studies have expanded my knowledge in areas such as math, computer systems, English, writing, editing and study skills. I have tutored students grades K-adults in all of these subjects.
Teaching Style
I believe students learn best when they can relate to the subject. It is easier to teach a subject when the student can see the problem in their own perspective. I've realized during past tutoring sessions that children have a creative and fun perspective on almost everything. Making learning fun and interactive works well with children because of their difficulties concentrating. With adults, putting learning into perspective based on everyday life makes the information more obtainable and easier to remember.
