Experience Summary
While earning my degree in physics at the University of Central Florida I found that tutoring was an excellent experience for both my students and me. I have tutored many different subjects including math(from algebra to differential equations), astronomy, physics, chemistry and biology. I taught middle school students through presentations of physics in films. I also aided my student in their research papers and power point presentations as I feel comprehension and writing skills are an important part of science. I truly enjoyed doing this and hope to continue tutoring and teaching.
Teaching Style
Throughout my years of tutoring I have found that there are many different ways that people learn. Once you figure this out learning is easy and enjoyable. I first go over what my students have been doing to learn and study the material. Once we have established their individual learning style, we go over what they can do to improve in that subject and perhaps with the overall learning of any material. I want my students to feel comfortable with the material, to understand it on many levels, not just to memorize the information. I strive to annihilate the fear students’ feel of any subject they know little about or have problems understanding. I want to make a difference in how people learn and how they feel about learning difficult or different materials.
