Experience Summary
I am totally dedicated to my career as an educator. My background includes teaching grades 6-12 in public and private schools as well as tutoring high schools students at home and at an academy for college students, some of whom have learning disabilities. I have worked many years not only as a teacher and tutor but as a counselor as well; combining these skills has enabled me to assist students in succeeding in their goals.
Teaching Style
I know that I can motivate students to succeed academically. I have always been able to relate to students of all ages. My husband is also a tutor and teacher, and we have helped many students to realize the importance of a good education. We are book collectors and have used our collection to inspire students to love to read. After many years working with the public, I know how to relate to all kinds of people, including those who can be dificult. I am very good in helping students who have negative attitudes about doing their assignments properly and on time. I think students have responded to me so well because they know I care about them. When they do better, it is quite gratifying for both of us.
