Experience Summary
My work experience has allowed me to work with children of all ages, abilities and personalities. My undergraduate degree in Social Sciences has equipped me with a broad range of perspectives for problem solving and communication. The psychology classes I have taken provided me with tools and information for understanding and working with others. My experience as a mentor has demonstrated the value and impact a caring adult can make on the life of a child. I believe meaningful connections established by tutors and teachers can influence a child's motivation and passion towards learning.
Teaching Style
I am receptive and aware of the unique learning styles that are found within different children. I am patient in taking the time to discover each child's strengths and weaknesses in order to provide the best learning experience. I believe in the importance of identifying goals so that progress can be measured to improve future sessions. I enjoy using my creativity to engage children in learning that is fun and exciting. I feel it is important that the child be interested in learning and I will try different strategies to invite questions.
