Experience Summary
I feel very passionately about education and the opportunities it provides. Graduating high school with a 102 average and 18 college credit hours shows how important it is to me to make the most out of every opportunity I am given. My senior year of high school I was granted permission to buddy teach the junior Spanish class, where I was responsible for coming up with my own lesson plans, tests, and teaching the material to the class. I graduated college with a double major; BA in Marketing/Advertising and BA in Management/Human Resources; and double minor, Psychology and Bible. My greatest learning experience came with teaching ballroom dancing for almost three years. I was trained to communicate material in many different approaches, to show the student they were making progress, and to make learning enjoyable for the student. Most recently, I have been substitute teaching in order to gain more classroom teaching experience.
Teaching Style
I want to empower others to have confidence and achieve something they can be proud of; to give them a healthy sense of self-worth. Each person thinks and analyzes differently. I will identify how each student learns best and then turn around and communicate information to them in relation to those strengths. I will be flexible to what the student requires to understand a concept rather than try to conform the student's thinking pattern to that of the teacher's. It is important to not only teach the material but to know the student and what motivates him/her to learn and succeed. I do not think any child should have to go through their education feeling embarrassed or without hope that they can learn.
