Experience Summary
Being an educator of Special Education children for the past six years, I have taught various learning levels as well as various learning abilities. I chose to earn my degree in Special Education because of the opportunity I would have to teach students of varied learning abilities in a small, direct-instruction environment. Since I am Florida certified in Specific Learning Disabilities: K-12, I have had the opportunity to educate middle school students in Reading, Language Arts, Math, and Science. My diverse educational background as allowed me the experience to tutor a wide range of learners. I have tutored first graders on reading and writing strategies all the way to high schoolers with Algebra II. I find that my tutoring sessions are an extension of my classroom and the strategies I use to educate my students.
Teaching Style
Every student has the ability to learn. This statement is the key for all individuals' academic success. As an educator, it is my responsibility to provide an environment that is culturally diverse and academically challenging to ensure that all students can fulfill all expectations both academic and personal. My focus on educating students goes beyond the curriculum standards. I believe in providing an environment that constantly challenges the students learning, motivating them to strive to the next level, and becoming strong, independent thinkers. As an educator, it starts with me to instill in the students a desire to learn, in order to meet the challenges they will face.
