Experience Summary
During the past sixteen years, I have not only strived for academic excellence, but have also enjoyed a passion for learning and educating. My recent graduation from the University of Notre Dame illustrates this passion. Although I earned my BA in Political Science, I supplemented my liberal arts education with business, math, and sciences courses. Therefore, I have developed both my writing, research, and critical thinking skills, and my ability to solve complex technical and analytical problems. As a result of this exposure to a variety of fields of study, I am able to understand, appreciate,apply, and explain a diverse set of skills and concepts. I have tutored students in reading, and upper level mathematics and english courses for four years.
Teaching Style
I truly believe that an educator's own passion for teaching and life-long learning encourages the student to strive to meet their own academic potential. By introducing and explaining material in an exciting, patient, and positive manner, I have seen students excel beyond expectation. As a student, I witnessed and experienced individuals struggling with different material and with different teaching styles. Therefore, as an educator, I implement a flexible and creative teaching style. I present material on an individualized basis that may incorporate visual-based, auditory-based, engaged, and/or discovery-based teaching methods. In this way, I hope to best accommodate your child's own personal learning style.
