Experience Summary
I have a diverse academic background running the gamut from English to International Business. In all instances, my academic programs were writing and research intensive by virtue of the degree requirements (English) or by virtue of the complex nature of the field (business). My current professional position is a Research Editor for a business intelligence publisher (www.csgis.com). On a daily basis I apply strict writing and composition principles as well as design and implement new publications. I have taught EFL/ESL abroad in Taiwan for a year; taught Business English in China for a year; and served as a teacher's assistant and substitute teacher for the Alpine School District in Utah for 2.5 years.
Teaching Style
It is my experience that learners, especially children, learn best in activity-based educational environments, especially those in which the learner (rather than the instructor) is the focal point of the program. My most important and relevant talent as a tutor has been my ability to allow learners to discover for themselves their own innate ability to acquire the necessary skill-sets to help them succeed.
