Experience Summary
I am currently an assistant professor at Austin Peay State University where I teach biochemistry and organic chemistry. My commitment to education has been demonstrated since the start of my postdoctoral position in which I performed research at Emory University while guest lecturing at Clark Atlanta University in Genetics. My passion is for all science as well as for education. I know that my students are confident in my belief in them by the challenging work I give them and the assistance I provide to make sure they are able to complete the challenging assignments.
Teaching Style
An effective teacher knows that learning is a very active process. To this end, my effectiveness of teaching always requires engaging students. I believe that involvement enables the students to be proactive about their learning. I firmly believe that the success of the students is my highest priority as an educator and in order to assure the success of students I must maintain a positive and caring attitude. My primary goals as an educator is to help students discover and apply the tools of learning to everyday life and to help students develop the thinking processes. I have a passion for education that is reflected in my teaching style so students understand that they are important to me. I continuously strive to improve my educational awareness by reading journal articles and attending conferences and workshops.
