Experience Summary
I always had a knack for teaching and have always been an academic. I am currently a teacher at Wharton High School in Hillsborough County. I am certified in English and social studies. Prior to becoming a full-time teacher, I worked as an independent legal and real estate consultant for the telecommunications industry. During my tenure as a student, I regularly worked as an academic tutor. I have a JD (Juris Doctor) and BA from the University of Florida. During my tenure as a consultant I prepared and presented several seminars for real estate professionals; I have developed extensive research, writing and critical analysis skills. This has made me quite comfortable in a "classroom" environment. I possess a wide range of academic abilities and am capable of providing instruction in a variety of areas including reading and composition as well as study and test-taking skills. I am also available to provide instruction to those struggling in their college 1101 and 1102 English classes. I had the opportunity to tutor during my own college career and managed to create a successful business. I received very positve feedback.
Teaching Style
I try to provide a dynamic learning environment that stimulates the students on multiple levels. I try to make learning fun as well as useful. I also try to develop in each student the attitude that learning is a continual process and means more than just memorizing whatever facts are necessary for the next test or quiz. "The more you know, the more you grow!" I derive great personal enjoyment from seeing my students succeed. I am driven by a desire to help others and make a difference.
