Experience Summary
I taught for 38 years before retiring. I have taught students from age 3 to age 106. Most of my teaching was with students that had learning problems, such as minorities,the underprivleged, the undereducated and the handicapped. I have a wide variety of skills and interests that makes tutoring fun and interesting for the student. My enthusiasm for life and my upbeat style has always been effective with children and adults of every age. I have taught Elementary School, High School, Adult Education, Special Education and English as a Second Language.
Teaching Style
Students learn best by being lead to discovery. Much of education is developing the ability to not get lost as one learns. I have found that given the time and the data at a proper gradient anyone can learn anything. Finding out what the student already knows and building, with clarity, upon that gives the confidence to learn and the desire to be educated.
