Experience Summary
Ever since I was a young child, my interest in Mathematics has been profound. Mathematics is much more than a class subject; I have interwoven mathematics as an integral (no pun intended) part of my life since I was a toddler. In High school I was frequently participating in Calculus competitions, at which I received two 1st prize awards and wide recognition. My high school teachers noted my skill in mathematics and invited me to become a math tutor in their department. I now attend Lyndon State College as a double major in Meteorology and Pure Mathematics; after two years, I am proudly the head tutor at the Math Lab. It is truly rewarding to tutor students who are struggling, and I hope to become a part of your team.
Teaching Style
The key to teaching Mathematics is to let the student discover the Math through leading questions and enthusiastic teaching methods. Many teachers neglect to embrace the beauty of Mathematics and how it is a unique form of art. A negative disposition, especially with Mathematics, most often times lead to failure In American society, it is socially acceptable to be poor at mathematics. This mentality is encouraged my other students, teachers, and even parents! If I worked as a part of your team, I will try my best to inspire struggling students and make them think in a way they never have before.
