Experience Summary
As Director of Financial Aid I taught 1 class per quarter at the Freshman college level in Career Skills. The course focused on Financial Aid, budgeting, loan repayment, personal fiscal responsiblity, dressing for success, study skills, and professional behavior. I was also Director of the Grant Summer Program for children 6 to 12 and Head Counselor of Camp Rede for children 4 to 6. As Finance Director I also taught Financial Aid concepts, regulations, and processes to current and continueing employees. Many former employees went on to become Directors themselves.
Teaching Style
My teaching style is candid and engaging. I believe that every student can succeed. I am forthright in teaching information and use feedback to ensure that concepts and ideas are grasped by the student. My approach is holistic in that I beleive each student's individual circumstances must be considered when teaching. My goal is to inspire students to WANT to succeed. When a student is inspired and beleives in themselves they are willing to do the work needed to succeed.
