Experience Summary
I have always been at the top of my classes related to math and sciences. Doing so has forced me to be looked up to by fellow students. It seemed that students eventually ended up asking me the same questions as the teachers. Since then I have been what is called a tutor. With my degree in Computer Engineering, I was able to take my math and science abilities and gain in-depth knowledge about computers on both the hardware and software levels. I have tutored students in many computer programming languages, many levels of math, electrical engineering, and even a little psychology.
Teaching Style
My teaching style is definately dependant on the student's learning style. Some people need to see the answer and reverse engineer it to understand. Some people need to visually work problems out. My bread and butter would probably have to be teaching with logic. With the basic principles of logic, an individual can learn the basics to almost anything. Another style/gift of mine is cutting out the extra material. When instructors hand students material to learn, there is a large amount of information that is not critical. I find and relay the critical pieces. I do not really know, sometimes you just have to hit a student from multiple angles to get something to stick.
