Experience Summary
I graduated in May 2001 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Biology. In college I took a variety of courses but focused on the sciences. I became a Resident Assistant in my second year and remained one through the end of college. My responsibilities were to enforce the school's policies while being available to the dorm students for support and individual needs. During my last year in college I was a tutor for twin boys in fifth grade. I have a strong academic foundation and feel very comfortable and patient when educating others.
Teaching Style
I always begin by reinforcing the basic and main principles first. I believe that a good education begins with a strong foundation. At that point it gets interesting as we can propose real life scenarios, change variables, and add in new information. Every child learns differently, which is why I also make a point to observe how he/she responds to my technique. As individuals with specific needs, they sometimes need more creative approaches. Whatever the situation, I have the ability to appeal to them with patience and support.
