Experience Summary
In Florida, I worked as first, a preschool teacher, and then was given the opportunity to teach at the high school level as a Language Arts instructor. I taught both regular and honors courses for the 9th and 10th grade levels. We moved to Colorado in June and since that time, I have been teaching as a substitute for Douglas, Cherry Creek, and Jefferson Counties and am also an adjunct professor in English, teaching the Composition courses. I have intensive background in language arts, literature, and writing, and my strength is teaching writing, as well.
Teaching Style
Becoming a teacher has been the greatest achievement of my life. I am not only able to teach my own students, but I learn along with them on a daily basis. I vary my style of teaching, which includes assessing all learning types, and try to reach all learners. I incorporate technology and every day items to help my students understand that what we read and study is used in the real world. My goal is to continue my education, as I am looking at a second Master's degree, a doctorate in the future, and most likely will become National Board Certified.
