Experience Summary
My background to date, has been centered around preparing myself to become the best teacher I could. I have abundant experience in teaching foreign languages, though most from English teaching. I lectured various English courses in the Civil Aviation Management Institute of China for almost a year. During my graduate training, I was fortunate to be a teaching assistant and instruct for an upper-intermediate level ESL (English as Second Language) course. I did an excellent job in lecturing classes, developing and compiling syllabi, evaluating students’ language abilities, and solving problems. My teaching portfolio includes student evaluations of my teaching, which are consistently high, citing my enthusiasm, clarity of explanation, and use of real-world examples as my strongest assets. Now I am teaching TOEFL, tutoring one student for his TOEFL exam. I am happy to see significant enhancement in his speaking, listening, writing and reading skills. I have also tutored children in English, Chinese and mathematics.
Teaching Style
My teaching concept is that she/he should not merely act as a gateway to knowledge, but influence students with their passion, enthusiasm and dedication, by exposing students to the beauty of the things that are being taught. Therefore, I am not only very competent in imparting professional knowledge but also skillful in imbuing my unique teaching style with an inspiring passion. Through all these activities, I have developed confidence and an interest in teaching and look forward to the opportunity to tutor many more kids.
