Experience Summary
As a future physician, working with people I find is necessary in order to be as efficient in every way possible. In the last five years, I have enjoyed working with kids of all ages as a tutor to middle school kids in high school, and then a tutor to college kids when at Valencia, and then as a tutor for no child left behind as well as private tutoring while in college. I feel that I have a purpose. A purpose to change the world. Sounds impossible, probably is, but why not test the waters by helping a child or adult to feel happy in knowing that they do "get it". Every time I bring a smile or hope to someones face, I feel like I have helped to start a change that through time could evolve into something great. I have tutored Math, English, Psychology, Arts, Sciences, and more. I feel the best way to help others is to help yourself, I know through tutoring, I am not only helping myself, but others as well, and what more can you really ask for?
Teaching Style
Teaching is an art. It can and does vary for each individual. When I teach, I first attempt to assess what type of learner the child is. What causes the child to become a sponge? My goal is to provide the best understanding of the material possible. I firmly believe that with a if you allow the person to do the work and just simply facillitate them, they will come to realize they more than likely know alot more than they originally thought. This process helps to boost self-esteem which can at times are shown by the grades of the students after our tutoring sessions and even during.
