Experience Summary
I have over six years of professional experience as an educator. In my career as an educator, I have worked with students ranging from young English language learners in central Mexico to recent high school graduates enrolled in a large urban university to international business and engineering professionals. I completed my multiple subjects credential in December, 2007, and hold endorsements in English and Spanish; I am also authorized to work with English language learners.
Teaching Style
As a tutor, I am able to focus completely on an individual's learning needs. I begin a tutoring relationship by having students perform a series of diagnostic activities, and then tell me about their strengths and weaknesses as learners, as well as their hopes and expectations for the tutoring sessions. With that information, I am better able to design learning activities that address students' learning needs and make the best use of their talents. In other words, it is "all about" the students -- except as far as I am the one facilitating their engagement and discovery.
