Teaching Style
My philosophy, and my approach as an English tutor is a holistic one. I have worked with students from the elementary level to the university level, and one thing has become evident to me, that students can and do improve academically provided they are given the appropriate support.
It has been my experience that students benefit from an academic approach that incorporates self-esteem skills in conjunction with integrating academic tools for success. It is my belief that once students are able to begin expressing ideas, views, content, and thoughts, reading and writing skills automatically begin to develop.
I have the ability to gain students trust, which facilitates growth on both an academic and personal level. I believe a good tutor/teacher acts as a mirror for students in which he/she can see progress as a wise tutor is only a reflection of a student.
My approach is to build a professional relationship with my students that allows him/her to use the tools I can provide in order to apply them not only in the present, but towards the future as a reader, and a writer in all aspects of life.
I have discerned that most students do not enjoy reading/writing simply because he/she has not been taught to enjoy it, as well as he/she has not been "mirrored" to see that self-expression is something tangible.
I am the best, and have a sincere heart for what I do. I am confident, trustworthy, and capable of reaching my students in order to create a sense of learning that colors the reading/writing experience with wonder.
