Experience Summary
Graduating from the ITP at USF exposed me to the intricated differences and nuances between English and American Sign Language. More importantly, teaching at Blossom opened my eyes to Deaf culture and the pure passion which drives teachers. Teaching middle school deaf children has been an experience unsurpassed by any other. I have learned the immense patience teaching teaching requires, as well as the utter joy received by the passing of knowledge.
Teaching Style
A good teacher is an empowering teacher. The only way a person can learn is through their own will, and teachers have to constantly be keeping their pupils interest. Students must encouraged through interactive approaches, receiving constructive feedback every step of the way. Every student has an unique contribution to give to this world, and their potential can only be reached with daily progress. A good teacher knows he/she is only as good as the results received from their most difficult student.
