Experience Summary
I have taught secondary Reading and Language Arts for the past 18 years at carmel Middle School in Harrison District 2. I also taught the same subects for 5 years at Harrison high School.I retired this year and find that I miss helping students achieve their full potential. My expertise is in reading, writing, and history.
Teaching Style
I believe one of my gratest strengths in the classroom was my connection to my studens. They were expected to do their best and to maintain appropriate classroom behavior. My students were respected and given every possible opportunity to achieve. I guided them and allowed them to find their voice in their writing and also helped them overcome some of the reading difficulties they may have encountered. With motivation, hard work, and a belief that they can succeed,my students were able to become lifelong learners.
