Experience Summary
After completing my college degree I went in to the finance world and then into Information Technologies. This allowed me exposure to a wide variety of skills and people. Along the way I have tutored students in English and some rudimentary math. Currently I am working towards my teaching certification and the most recent teaching experience I have had is teaching beginning English to ESL students at a local high school. Between the extensive papers I have written in college and graduate school, and the assignments I have graded as a teacher, my grammatical and editing skills are extensive.
Teaching Style
I have always enjoyed teaching, whether it is to children or to adults. My approach has always been to keep a fun atmosphere while establishing control over the class; we can have fun but I am in charge and I will let you know when the line has been crossed. This kind of atmosphere, in my opinion, is optimal for learing. I believe I have the patience needed to teach and the desire to see children learn. A good teacher can make all the difference in a child's life and I have modeled my approach from teachers I have had from whom I have learned the most.
