About Me

Experience Summary

I received my bachelor's degree at the University of Florida in Elementary Education in Fall of 2005. I am currently working on my master's degree in special education. I have completed all my course work and have an internship in special education to complete. I have had experience teaching and tutoring within my education at the University of Florida. I tutored a five year old in reading for one semester. I worked in a second grade classroom another semester. I had a pre-internship in a first grade classroom for one semester. My last semester, I had a graduate practicum in a varying exceptionalities resource room. I also tutored a second grader in UFLI. UFLI is similar to reading mastery. I am trained in the following; Great Leaps, JumpStart, UFLI Reading Mastery, Content Enhancement: Strategy Intervention Model, SRA Corrective Reading, Microsoft Word, Power Point, Excel.

Teaching Style

Building a safe and open relationship, teaching in a democratic way, teaching to all students, and being prepared but flexible are all parts of my teaching philosophy. Loving, passionate, flexible, open-minded, sensitive, current, engaging, knowledgeable, and culturally accepting; these are all words to describe the teacher I am and thrive to be. They are characteristics to describe a superb teacher. Anything less than this would be shortchanging the children, who are the most important pieces to the puzzle. I love children. They are the future and to know that I may have touched a child’s life in some way makes teaching even more enjoyable. It is very rewarding job. I will always try my hardest to be the very best role model. I only want and wish them to grow. I want to get them ready for the future and to love school and learning. The legacy I want to leave to the children, families, other educators, and communities is that school is a fun, knowledgeable, and safe atmosphere.
