Experience Summary
In my ten years of experience as a teacher I have accomplished many things of which I am proud. My second year of teaching I was asked to implement a reading intervention program district-wide. After two years of that, I started a school within a school for at-risk students. The last two years of my career I helped to pilot and then implement single gender classrooms school-wide.
Four years ago I decided to pursue my National Board certification. I have my MAT as well.
In addition to these things, I also sponsored Beta Club and Student Council for three years.
I have tutored seven year olds through adults. I have tutored reading, math, SAT prep, and GRE prep (verbal and quantitative.)
Teaching Style
I believe to be a good teacher you have to be creative, patient, challenging and persevering. I love working with students who have not had success in school and show them how to reach the goals they have set and taste success. I am good at pin-pointing what motivates students to achieve, and also give them the tools and encouragement to reach their goals.
