Experience Summary
As a professional athlete, I know what kind of work ethic it takes to excel in athletics as well as education. I had a double major and minor in college and earned my degree with a 3.5 GPA while playing baseball full-time. I have always excelled in mathematics and Spanish and feel more than competent teaching other areas as well. Through my two years of teaching students ranging from 3rd grade through community college, every single student improved their grades, a fact that gives me much pride and satisfaction.
Teaching Style
I enjoyed teaching all age groups, but I feel that there is one continuing thread that I try to keep in all my tutoring sessions. The teachers from my past that made the greatest impact on me pushed me to be a better student that I thought I was capable of, and I try to use this tact when I teach. I also try to keep it as low-stress as possible, since most students are already discouraged about the subject matter when they reach you. I try to draw from my experience (professional athlete, full scholarship for 5 years, etc.) to show what academics can provide in your future.
