Experience Summary
I pursued a double-major in piano performance and biology during college years. Even though the academic work load was extremely overwhelming, I taught tutoring sessions to other college students simply because I loved making difference in other people's lives. Due to studying piano for over 20 years, I developed a certain dedication that one should have in order to succeed in academia, and I wanted to share that with other students. I have spent many tutoring hours with high school students that are experiencing difficulties in Science and Math. I worked with college athletes that struggled to find time to study due to their busy schedule of practicing and going to school. With college students, I focused on Biology, Chemistry, Physics, and Physiology.
Teaching Style
My teaching background is mainly based on teaching piano to all age groups for the past 7 years. Teaching music to someone has required me to be extremely sensitive to the students ability, interest, and personal challenges. Over the years, I have gained the ability to analyze the strength and weakness of each students and deliver a personalized teaching style while constantly encouraging them to be more passionate about their learning materials. I also believe in having some fun while learning whether it is learning how to play a sports or how to write a math equation. In order to do so, I incorporate many different teaching materials to avoid boredom in learning and to provoke new interests in every lesson. When the students are having fun without much intimidation about the teacher and the subject, they can be more succeful at meeting their potentials.
