Experience Summary
Educating students and helping them succeed has been a passion of mine for ten years now, both in the classroom and in one-on-one situations. I began tutoring in high school as a volunteer with the California Scholarship Federation, and I continued through college and beyond with various companies in California. I have tutored and taught elementary, junior high, and high school students Enlish and Math. I completed high school by getting a four on the Calculus AP test. I received my BA in English, my teaching credential, and my MA in Education from the University of California, Davis. I now teach English Language Learners. My wide array of experience and education has given me many skills that I use to promote student success.
Teaching Style
My vision and goal in working in education is to help students who are struggling and in need of help. These students can so often be overlooked or dismissed as failures, but I believe that all students have the capability to reach their goals. I strive to create a relationship with the student in which the tutoring creates an environment conducive to a common goal that we can share that will guide us to improving the student's life.
