Experience Summary
As a Human Services: Business Management/Psychology graduate student, I have learned extensive communication and business skills. I have earned a bachelor degree in Criminal Justice and have written research papers and reports, along with essays in many areas of study. I have received extensive training in Education Preparation and Substitute Teaching. During this training, I have learned to develop effective classroom management and instructional strategies within an educational setting. Currently, I am a volunteer mentor for a high student. Also, I have tutored in English, psychology, social studies, writing and the arts.
Teaching Style
I enjoy working with diverse groups of students. My beliefs of teaching are to listen, encourage learning, and respect an individual’s efforts. In addition, with careful observation of human behavior patterns, I can develop strategies that address collaboration amongst various people groups and cultures within a classroom setting. This is key to communicating effectively with students and will promote success in learning. I believe all children can meet their potential if they are given an opportunity to communicate their learning experiences with the instructor and peers. I believe that with assessment preparation and giving motivational feedback to students, they can reach attainable goals.
