Experience Summary
When I graduated from high school, I went to college and completed my AA degree. I wanted out of college and immediately started working and making money. Eventually I realized how much I wanted to further my degree so I returned and I completed my bachelor's degree in two and a half years. It was the best choice I have ever made. I have since worked in private schools for the past seven years in Development and Fundraising and I am currently a stay-at-home mom. I have been a sustitute teacher and I am able to teach elementary school age children.
Teaching Style
I think the biggest part of getting children to understand what they need to know is relating to something that they like. For example, if a child likes basketball then you can relate counting and math to how the players score points in a basketball game. I think it is important to be patient and get to know the children in order to teach them effectively. I also think that making learning fun and inventive is an effective way of teaching.
