Experience Summary
I am a person who very much enjoys helping people understand subjects that are scary and difficult for them. Presently, I am teaching linear algebra to a dyslexic woman. She's taken the class five times and this time she is passing! In the past, I have tutored physics, algebra, calculus, finite math, statistics, elementary school math, and freshman, bio- and organic chemistry. I have taught a 4 1/2 and 3 1/2 yr old to read, taught the 3 1/2 yr. old additon and subtraction, and a fourth grader algebra. Also, I have helped students to organize and write papers using proper grammar. In college, I tutored one-on-one and in small groups.
Teaching Style
I enjoy teaching because I like the "ah ha!" or "eureka!" that people have when they discover and learn. I enjoy seeing them develop confidence in themselves. My goal is to teach in a way that the student can grasp and I realize that different people learn in different ways. I am willing to change my approach to meet that need. I like children and adults to learn logic processes and the rules that apply to the subject such as math. I love to see each student succeed.
