Experience Summary
I am an applied scientist with extensive experience in the Air Force, industry and education. My doctorate is in physics but I have been a weather forecaster, a school board member and president of a state dairy goat association. I have written numerous technical reports and project proposals and have graded thousands of lab reports. My vast and varied background enables me to connect math and science concepts to everyday life, thus enhancing understanding and retention. I have tutored students in English, physics, mathematics and earth science.
Teaching Style
I believe learning is easiest when students are having fun. It is for this reason that I always try to connect concepts to things the student knows or wants to know. There is a real joy in learning new things and my goal is to nurture the excitement of discovery. I am patient, easy going and considerate. I realize each student has a unique learning style so I strive to establish a partnership between us. Together we will find academic success and reach our goals.
