Experience Summary
As a student at Colorado State University I felt that I was especially talented in English and journalism. I even studied Spanish, in the states and in Spain, solidifying my passion for language. I was hired to tutor and mentor college-level athletes while finishing my final year at CSU. I cherished the experience and am currently employed at a trade journal where I edit and write. I am solely responsible for grammar and style for both internet and hard copies. I enjoy the responsibility and through this challenging position, I have learned that I am versatile enough to edit stories I sometimes do not fully understand. I have tutored all college-level subjects, but am especially skilled in English, Spanish, journalism, communications, art history, and production.
Teaching Style
I am passionate about sharing with others what I know, and in turn, enjoy learning from the experience of tutoring. I always edit a paper by going through a line-by-line account of what my suggestions mean on a conceptual level. I am direct, and I feel that by understanding what students' goals are within a subject or class, I can meet them on their level. Then, I strive to amplify those goals and to excite them to take pride in their achievements, pushing them to reach for even more.
