Experience Summary
I have taught kindergarten for several years. I have taught beginning readers in kindergarten, as well as reading comprehension to older students.I have homeschooled children in grades pre-k through 5th grade. I have taught in a classroom setting pre-K, Kindergarten, 1st grade, and 4th grade. I have experience teaching in the classroom as well as private tutoring. I have also helped students prepare for the FCAT.I have taught basic math as well as pre-algebra. I also am able to do homeschool evaluations through BJU.
Teaching Style
I enjoy teaching children and helping them accomplish their goals. I believe that learning should be fun. I try to motivate each child by focusing on their strengths. I encourage each child to try their best. I believe that each child has the potential to do well in school and I feel that it is my job to help them succeed. I have helped several of my students improve their math and reading grades, dramatically! One of my students was failing math and he received a B on his last report card! The other student went from a fourth grade reading level to a seventh grade reading level in less than three months. I enjoy seeing the smiles on the children's faces when they get a good report card and it makes my job worthwhile.
