Experience Summary
Teaching is my passion - especially the teaching of reading. I returned to the classroom after 25 years in industry (and an MBA) because the classroom is where I want to be. I am currently a 2nd grade teacher in the Charlotte-Mecklenberg School System. I have taught 1st, 2nd and 3rd grades. I also hold an International TEFL Certificate. I especially enjoy tutoring because I can develop a personal relationship with the child. This bond is an important element of success.
Teaching Style
I use positive reinforcement and humor with my students. I expect their best and I get it. Every child can succeed when the right tools are used and the approach is tailored to their unique learning style.
