Experience Summary
As an Air Force spouse I moved with my husband overseas to the island of Guam. Because I have my BA in Christian Education, I was given the opportunity to teach at a school on the island. It was a small school so I was given grades 5th-8th. I taught science, health, and English (language arts, spelling). I have also been employed in the marketing arena in proofreading and copywriting. Currently I am an instructor of children ages 7-12 in a weekly acting class focused on improvisational comedy skills. It never ceases to amaze me how creative a child's mind can be.
Teaching Style
Due to my education background, I fully understand that each student will learn in a different way. Many are only visual learners, and many are only analytical learners with the remaining learners a combination of both. In my teaching I find each student's specific learning style so I can include it into each of my lessons. I also find that patience is a must when teaching or tutoring children. I am also a believer that a teacher or tutor needs to have a kind heart. Especially when a child is frustrated, it is vital to guide them and encourage them.
