Experience Summary
Teaching has been a life long goal for me. I decided I wanted to teach when I was in the third grade. My third grade teacher left an impression on me that lasted through out my life. I completed the elementary education program at Rhode Island College in May, 2006. I have been a substitute in the field for two years. I am actively searching for a permanent teaching position. I spend my time in the elementary grades teaching a variety of subjects. I focus on grades kindergarten through five. I have a solid background in the language arts field. English was my concentration during the teacher preparation program. I enjoy teaching all subjects and I am willing to tutor any of them.
Teaching Style
I enjoy teaching math, science, social studies and language arts. I like to use many teaching strategies because I believe all children learn in different ways. I like to use hands-on activities, visual aids, music, math manipulatives and traditional styles. I have great classroom management skills. I believe I am patient and very organized. I enjoy looking for lessons and ideas on the internet. I enjoy putting activities together that reach the education goals. I believe all children can learn if they are given the proper guidance and instruction.
