Experience Summary
Over the past 15 years I have been a trainer for professionals in areas of process management and quality regulations. In addition I have 4 years of experience at the secondary school level teaching chemistry, math and physics. In addition I taught chemistry at the local community college as an adjunct instructor. This has allowed me to explore a variety of teaching methods for a varied audience. In addition I spent two years as a tutor for high school students in the areas of math and chemistry.
Teaching Style
I work hard at finding a way to connect with the student. This requires that I stay aware of the hints that the student is transmitting so that I can present the material in a manner that the student can proclaim "I've got it". I also work with the student to solve problems. Another approach I use is to never answer a question directly. I always ask them questions in a manner that allows them to be guided to the answer. This builds their self confidence and allows them think thru the process to get at the answer and it helps them to take ownership of the content.
