Experience Summary
As an undergraduate, I taught a cell biology laboratory and an introduction to biology laboratory. As a laboratory instructor, I learned appropriate ways to teach the subject of biology and to test students' knowledge of biology. My background in the sciences and my courses in communications and English make me a qualified candidate for tutoring.
Teaching Style
I loved the subject of biology at a very early age. However, it was my educators in high school and college that helped guide me towards a career in biology. As an undergraduate laboratory instructor, I found that one of my strengths included passing on difficult knowledge in an easy to understand way. Teaching an introductory to biology laboratory helped me gain new approaches to instruction because all of the students were non-biology majors and did not have a background in science. My goal as an instructor is to make the sciences a fun learning experience, and one that it is easily understood.
