Experience Summary
Have taught all subjects k-8, and all English, general math, algebra, geometry, histories, and sciences 9-12, have worked at grad level as instructor and master's thesis supervisor, currently full-time teacher for hospital homebound (for ex. this year taught k,1,2,4,5,10,and 12th grades) and advisor for doctoral student. Was been awarded a Fullbright Fellowship to Japan for 3 weeks in 2004. Currently tutoring a 2d and 4th grader in English/reading and math.
Teaching Style
I believe in using testing in varied, ongoing forms to drive instruction. I use student interest and favored learning styles as the core, but cross and reteach using multiple modalities so that my students enjoy the process and the outcome. For example, I have developed a core science program using historical biology to interweave physical, earth, space and biological sciences for the middle and high school grades. My goal as a teacher is to have my students develop a questioning, thinking independent mind that can support their thinking with data and creativity.
