Experience Summary
I began working as an independent, private tutor while I was in high
school here in Palm Beach County, and as a college student at Yale I continued to do part-time private tutoring, as well as volunteer tutoring in public schools. I have tutored students in math, science, history, English, Spanish, and SAT Prep. In college, I completed coursework in a wide range of subjects, majoring in Political Science and International Studies and graduating cum laude. Through my coursework and my experience as a writer and editor at the Yale Herald newspaper, I have developed my skills in writing and grammar. During my sophomore year of college, I co-founded a website that offers college admissions essay counseling services, and through that site I have helped many students hone their college applications.
Teaching Style
As someone who loves learning myself, I try my best to pass on that passion to my students by helping them experience the rewarding feeling that comes from understanding new concepts. My tutoring style is relatively straightforward and I try to maintain a good sense of humor. I believe all young people deserve and require a good education, which is why I have spent time working not only as a private tutor, but also as a volunteer tutor for public elementary school students who need extra help.
