Experience Summary
As a Certified Dyslexia teacher, I teach Orton-Gillingham multisensory curriculum to students with dyslexia and other reading deficits. My one on one tutoring is designed to get to the root of the problem by building and reinforcing phonemic and grapheme awareness using sight, sound and touch. Being an elementary substitute teacher and certified dyslexia teacher I continue my professional development in my areas of expertise.
Teaching Style
My teaching style is multisensory, utilizing sight, sound and touch. I'm very patient and I love teaching children. For me, the highlight of teaching is when a child suddenly gets that 'aha moment'; when the light bulb finally turns on and the child understands the concept. My goal is to make sure my students feel safe, important and intelligent while having fun learning.
