Experience Summary
As a student at the University of Florida, I am very driven to succeed in academia as well as help others. I have taken several credit hours of education classes. Additionally, I hold a paraprofessional certificate which allows me to be a teacher assistant. During the past couple of years, I have tutored all aged students in math and ACT preparation. I have strong writing and reading skills in English and adequate abilities in Spanish. I have also substituted at a private school which specializes in learning differences so I have a sufficient understanding of many different learning types.
Teaching Style
I really enjoy working with youth and helping them learn. I have faith that all children can flourish given the proper chances. I believe in making learning enjoyable, which is why my teaching style is based on mutual respect. I am patient, laid back, and I employ a rewards-based learning system. I’ve found that it is most helpful to relate subject material to the child’s interests, and so I do that often. I am always available to help, even through phone and email. I strive to make a positive difference in the world, and once I am committed to something, I give myself wholeheartedly.
