Experience Summary
I have experience working with a wide range of students, from K-12, as well as special needs. My specialty is microbiology, and have received a degree in cell biology from Marquette University. I have learned how to discipline myself when it comes to learning, and have been able to use that to help other students of all ages. I also volunteered this past semester tutoring at a Milwaukee Public School for second grade in reading and writing.
Teaching Style
I love working with students and have excellent patience and communication skills. I also like to think of creative ways to help students learn if they are not understanding. I have found that the method of facilitating rather than dictating to be a highly beneficial style of teaching. I have learned that if students construct their own learning experiences they will not only retain information longer, but they will become more confident in their own abilities.
