Experience Summary
I am a recent Ph.D. graduate with a strong interest and enthusiasm for the sciences, and ecology in particular. I have extensive experience in biological study design and analysis, data collection and management, and report and manuscript preparation. As a graduate student I spent two years working as a teaching assistant in college-level introductory biology courses. My primary duties as a T.A. involved guiding students through laboratory exercises, assisting students with questions and problem-solving, and grading student homework and test materials. I am adept at communicating scientific concepts, both in person and in writing, and enjoy sharing my enthusiasm for scientific inquiry and learning.
Teaching Style
I have great respect for the unique needs of individual students and strive to connect with students in a way that honors those needs. My goal in teaching is to inspire a sense of curiosity and enthusiasm about the subject at hand and minimize confusion and frustration whenever possible. I enjoy working with students of all backgrounds and interests and am patient and easygoing to work with. I hope to help make your academic experience a positive one and to help you cultivate lifelong strategies for effective problem-solving.
